Making money online got harder!

Today intermarketer are facing with the Google Sand Box!

What is the Google Sandbox?

The Google Sandbox is an alleged filter placed on new websites. The result is a site does not receive good rankings for its most important keywords and keyword phrases. Even with good content, abundant incoming links and strong Google PageRank, a site is still adversely affected by the Sandbox effect. The Sandbox acts as a de facto probation for sites, possibly to discourage spam sites from rising quickly, getting banned, and repeating the process.

How would you describe the Google Sandbox in one sentence?

The Google Sandbox is very similar to a new website being placed on probation, and kept lower than expected in searches, prior to being given full value for its incoming links and content.

ebay digital downloads ban

POSTED BY Paul on Mar 29 under ebay

You’ll probably hear this same basic message throughout the forums, however I’ve yet to find anyone who really has a solid plan of how they’re going to deal with this slap in the face by eBay. Basically, I understand why eBay made this move. I just think the way they sprung it on us was, well… infuriating. We can do what we can to persuade them to repeal the decision, but I doubt they will. But what I think we really need to focus on is evolving. I’ve got very specific plans on how we can (all of us digital retailers) actually turn this problem into an opportunity. I’ve written about it in depth on my website http://thedigibay.com

I’m an Internet Marketing Coach and I have a soft spot for everybody who is busting their butts to sell stuff on eBay. I started a lot of my newbie students out on eBay. And have since taught them to build a more solid business model, and work on multiple revenue streams. Probably the most important takeaway I can give you right now, is that if you’ve been selling on eBay for a while, you’ve already got one of your greatest assets. A LIST OF BUYERS. As we all know, a list of buyers is exponentially more valuable than a list of prospects. I propose that we all extract the names, emails, and product purchase details out to our bulk mailers. Then, setup a “coming soon” page website with an optin form. Work on making the new site a respectable looking shopping cart behind the scenes. While building a buzz with our list about our upcoming website launch. I expect to have a nice big pay day in a few weeks when I relaunch the information products part of my business on a new site. If you’re really feel stuck in the mud, and aren’t 100% sure how you should proceed from here. You might want to subscribe to my newsletter. In each email I’m going to spell out, step by step what me and my friends are going to do. I won’t be hiding any secrets from you guys, because I truly want us all to be successful. In case you need it again, here’s that address, it’s the easiest way to get in touch with me: http://thedigibay.com

ebay digital downloads ban solution

I’ve played around with the Google Product search stuff (for sellers the interface is called Google Base) before and it was pretty easy to get started with. I like the way that end users can add stuff to a cart called the Shopping List. I guess it’s more like Amazon wish list tool. You can even share your wish list with people. And of course it’s powered by Google search so people can find stuff pretty darn easy. It looks like they’ve recently improved the interface some so that product listings are more user friendly too. So lot’s of nice features for shoppers. Now the seller tools are really cool. In fact, I’m going to record a screencast on this to show you how to setup up shop from start to finish. Including how to setup a data feed. One cool thing that I like is that many shopping cart programs are compatible with Google Base (The seller’s side of Product Search remember?) What this means is that when you create a new item in your website’s shopping cart, it automatically feeds it to Google Product Search. So your products are listed in both places. Pretty darn cool right? Well, I’m also going to be doing a round up of my favorite shopping cart applications like Shopify.com,

WP-eCommerce,

Zen Cart, osCommerce, and others to help you guys pick one that’s right for you. If you want repeat buyers that come to you for the first time through Google Product Search, you really want to have your own website with a shopping cart. Watch for the videos (coming soon) at my website TheDigiBay.com and you’ll see it’s pretty darn easy to setup. It takes a little work, but it’s time well spent. I mention this in like every post, but I’m not sure if you guys realize what a powerful asset you have in your mailing list. That is the list of names and email addresses of people who have already bought stuff from you. If you master the skill of building and managing your mailing list, and interacting with your subscribers, such that a relationship and/or a bond is created; as long as you are being cool to these people providing value to them, you can have a steady flow of buying customers… for life. I love posting in the forums, but if you want detailed step by step strategies to help your biz survive, thrive, and evolve through this debacle you’ll get tons of help at my new site: http://thedigibay.com It’s also the easiest way to get in touch with me if you need help, just post a comment. Ok guys, stay up! Glen McNiel TheDigiBay.com P.S. Dude, I almost completely forgot to give you the links for Google Base and Product Search. Why Wordpress?

POSTED BY Paul on Mar 11 under Wordpress

Wordpress is the the right website platform for today’s web sites. It is easy and flexible. It is free. It has Blog, SEO, RSS, shopping cart and many other add on features call plug-ins for free. Yet it is very powerful website CMS platform.

WordPress is a state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. What a mouthful. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time. More simply, WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it.

Let’s review for a second a few of the things that will get you (and keep you) indexed quickly and consistently in the world of search engines (particularly Google):

 1. New Content
 2. Fresh Content
 3. Consistently Added Content
 4. Keyword Rich Content

Get the point! Content is still king! But how do you create and post new, fresh content on a consistent basis? Yep, you guessed it: BLOGGING! (a combination of the words WEB and LOG). We have all heard about blogging. It sounds fun, but how is this going to make us money? The bigger question here is how is it NOT going to make us money? A blog may be the perfect framework for what search engines are looking for today. They are easy to manage. They are easy to create (either through free hosted services such as Blogger.com or free open-source packages such as Wordpress that you can install quickly and easily onto your own server and domain name). They focus on new content. They focus on consistent content (assuming that you post regularly). The internal structure of blogs is typically highly search engine optimized. From an external SEO stand-point, built-in features such as pings and RSS feeds allows quick and easy syndication of your content providing not only great backlinks, but excellent traffic, too. And further, in a couple of weeks we will discuss the importance of Social Marketing and the place blogs have in this world. The moral of this story: START A BLOG! Blogs will help to build page rank, traffic, reputation and so much more.
